Welcome to our church - an inclusive, open and welcoming family on the South Shore of Long Island.
Welcome to First Presbyterian Church of East Moriches
You're going to feel at home in our church. Worship is every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a coffee hour hosted by our members. Sunday School meets after the children participate in the beginning of our service through the first hymn and the children's sermon. Our new pastor, the Rev. Ralph Wright, is inspiring, experienced and a warm and gracious friend.
The First Presbyterian Church is a small congregation with big dreams. It is in everyone's hearts to grow our church, not only in numbers, but also in mission and ministry. We are called to nurture our congregation with the word of God through the leadership of a pastor who will prepare spiritually and intellectually challenging sermons and through stimulating Worship and Christian Education programs. We are called to reach out to our communities, local and global, through expanding our ministries of peace and justice, mission and evangelism.
Our members and friends generously respond to the needs of our budget by regularly providing popular fund-raising events. These are occasions for contact with the East Moriches community, as well as another opportunity for fellowship among those who participate.
Our congregation hopes to re-emphasize our church as a family of God and a welcoming place of worship and outreach, inclusive of people of all ages, regardless of faith background, orientation, or ethnic group. We recognize the blessing that a more diverse membership can bring to our fellowship, and we provide the unique gift of an inclusive, open and welcoming family to our community.
Building our church in this image means opening the doors with enthusiastic welcome through new programs to reach more people in our area. Through wise stewardship of both our financial and human resources, we hope to challenge ourselves to develop and revitalize our facilities, broaden our mission, and increase the diversity of our congregation.
